First I would like to thank Geoffrey Stewart for giving me the chance to read this book.

I have really enjoyed the history and the storytelling in this book which was factual but was easy to read. So unlike reading a history book as it was informative and interesting and gave me an insight into how the lives of all those involved in life back in the 1800's, how people, convicts and colonists were treated and how it affected their lives.

This is based on a true story but read like a fiction novel making the learning of history enjoyable. The reader gets more of a sense of who the person was and the life they lived. Easily portrays an image in the readers mind of the era when events took place.
